Polytechnic is a combination of two words as poly + technic, here poly means many and technic means related to technology.

What is polytechnic?

Polytechnic is a diploma course in technology and engineering field.

Polytechnic consist of subjects related to the purpose of application so there many subjects related to application and the subjects contain a word which is applied such as applied mathematics or applied physics.

The duration of this course is of 3 years for regular student and 4 years for part-time students.

There are many trades in this course such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, etc. These trades refer to a specific branch in you are can study.

Polytechnic is for those students who has passed 10th class with good marks. You need to pass a entrance test to be eligible to get admission. After passing that teast you can go through counciling which is a process of admission.

Polytechnic can be said as college or school but it is an institution. However it is similar as college.

The timing from start of the day or period at college to end of the day differs due to morning and evening shift but this contains 8 hours.
